INTO THE WOODS Deleted Scene: Meryl Streep Sings Original Song “She’ll Be Back”

When two Tony winners write an original song for an Academy Award-winning actress, you’d think it’d be the centerpiece of the film, but the song “She’ll Be Back” never even made it into the final cut of Rob Marshall’s Into the Woods. Stephen Sondheim and James Lapine wrote the song for Meryl Streep’s The Witch and while they did film it, it never followed the scene when Rapunzel (Mackenzie Mauzy) runs off with the Prince (Billy Magnussen) as originally intended. However, that doesn’t mean you’ll never get to see it. Not only will Streep’s performance of “She’ll Be Back” be on the Blu-ray bonus features menu when it hits stores on March 24th, but a portion of the clip is already available on the web to watch. You can catch about a minute of the four and a half-minute song below. Into the Woods also stars Emily Blunt, James Corden, Chris Pine, Lilla Crawford, Daniel Huttlestone, Tracey Ullman, Christine Baranski and Johnny Depp. Via Stitch Kingdom.
