SERIAL THRILLER Scripted Mini-Series Heading to Investigation Discovery

Investigation Discovery will begin dipping its toes into scripted programming this summer. The channel is set to release Serial Thriller, a three-episode mini-series based on an undisclosed true-crime story involving a famed serial killer, one which will remain a mystery likely until well into the series’ three-hour runtime. Teasing the subject matter of the mini-series, Henry Schleiff, group president of Discovery Communications, which owns Investigation, said that viewers will know which famed killer the series is focused on before the […]

Greg McLean To Direct James Gunn’s Screenplay for THE BELCO EXPERIMENT

James Gunn's script for The Belco Experiment dates back to at least 2010, as I remember it being one of his projects in development right when Super was coming out. So he must really love the concept - he calls it the most intense script he's ever written - if he's willing to polish the draft up (while writing and prepping Guardians of the Galaxy 2 no less) for Wolf Creek director Greg Mclean to helm. Gunn will also serve […]

Netflix Goes In for BLOODLINE Season 2

I have yet to see Netflix’s new series Bloodline but it certainly has its fair share of fans (Allison put it in the "Damn Fine Television" ranks with her review) so I imagine they will be happy to hear that the show has been renewed for a second season. The drama follows the Rayburns, as the eldest brother and black sheep of the family (Ben Mendelsohn) returns home to expose the family’s emotional demons, threatening to tear them apart. Having not watched the first […]

The First BATMAN V SUPERMAN Trailer Is Attached to MAD MAX: FURY ROAD

Ever since Warner Bros. announced its Man of Steel follow-up, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, I’ve been waiting to see a trailer. Obviously those at Comic-Con last year got to see a tiny bit of footage from the film, but WB never officially released it, so most people have yet to see anything. Which brings me to today’s update. After speaking with a few sources, I’m happy to report the first Batman v Superman trailer is on the cusp of being released. I’m told it’s […]

THE FLASH Boss Talks Tonight’s Big Reveal, Assembling the Rogues, and More

It wouldn’t be an episode of The CW series The Flash, if it didn’t have another handful of big reveals, and the latest episode, “Tricksters,” was no exception. Thankfully, executive producer Andrew Kreisberg was available to answer some of the burning questions that arose with the latest twists to the story, following a screening of the episode. With a handful of press, Andrew Kreisberg talked about the big secret reveal, an upcoming awkward double date with Barry as the fifth […]

THE FLASH Recap: “Tricksters”

Flashback! In a race against time between speedsters, we get to see the moments before Nora Allen's death 15 years ago. The epic battle within the Allen home unfolded so fast that the replay had to slow it down for us mere mortals, but it's still unclear exactly what happened. The chase spills out into the street where Reverse Flash soon runs out of juice. AI unit Gideon reveals that his time jump with The Flash has depleted all of […]

Adrien Brody Talks STONE BARN CASTLE and Lee Tamahori’s EMPEROR

One of the many films to premiere at this year’s SXSW was Adrien Brody’s documentary Stone Barn Castle. He made the film with Kevin Ford and it follows Brody as he attempts to remodel a dilapidated stone barn in upstate New York that’s reminiscent of an old European castle. The project took seven years, beginning just after Brody shot The Brothers Bloom and found himself in a state of uneasiness, and he filmed it under the radar. Shortly before the world premiere I sat […]

COMMUNITY Recap: “Queer Studies & Advanced Waxing”

This week's episode of Community begins with the gang struggling between the Greendale school board trying to wrangle the Dean to be their “gay centerpiece”, Chang and Annie working within a re-enactment of The Karate Kid, and Elroy and Abed doing their best to protect a nest of abandoned baby birds that happen to be cutting out the Wi-Fi for Greendale. Things also start out hot and heavy with the one-liners, as references to Elroy creating the original Donkey Kong as a […]
