Jesse Eisenberg Battles Himself in Excellent New Trailer for Richard Ayoade’s THE DOUBLE

Magnolia Pictures has released a wonderful new trailer for writer/director Richard Ayoade’s (Submarine) new film The Double.  The story centers on meek office-drone Simon James (Jesse Eisenberg) who is overlooked by everyone he knows including his crush, Hannah (Mia Wasikowska).  Simon’s meager life is then upended when he meets James Simon (Jesse Eisenberg), a man who’s identical in appearance and the complete opposite in personality.  This trailer is, quite simply, fantastic, as it highlights Ayoade’s delightfully inventive script, Eisenberg’s stellar […]

Rumor: Is a New MATRIX Trilogy in Development?

We live in a box office climate dominated by sequels, reboots, and remakes.  A known property is a much safer bet for a studio than an original film, and even when one original idea somehow makes it through the pipeline and proves to be a massive success (eg. Inception), it’s singled out as an anomaly rather than incentive to generate more original properties.  As such, the major studios are always on the hunt for ways to reboot or extend franchises, […]

New Images from GODZILLA Starring Aaron Taylor Johnson and Bryan Craston; Plus a Size Chart Comparing Godzilla’s Incarnations

Hit the jump to check out the […]

Watch the Trailer for Topher Grace’s One-Film Edit of the STAR WARS Prequels

About two years ago, I wrote about a very cool screening I got to attend: an 85-minute version of the three Star Wars prequels that was cut together by Topher Grace.  As I said at the time, "while you may think there is no way to make the three films work as one coherent movie, Grace accomplished it with only a few minor flaws.  His combined prequel trilogy moves quickly and omits huge chucks of story in favor of action […]
